Bridgeville's Apple-Scrapple Festival is a Friday-and-Saturday street festival with a Thursday-night warm-up, and this year is the 34th. It is organized by the Apple Scrapple Committee, and the official dates are Friday, Oct. 9, and Saturday, Oct. 10.
The name is the program: apples, scrapple, and contests to match.

Saturday, Oct. 10: the main day
The festival opens at 9 a.m., with music at the bandstand through the day. Two of Saturday's contests:
- 1 p.m.: Ladies Skillet Toss, in the Union Methodist Church lot. Registration runs 12:40 to 12:55.
- 2 to 3 p.m.: Invitational Scrapple Sling, at the bandstand.
The festival's own schedule page has the full bandstand lineup and the rest of the day's events; it is the one to check on the morning you go.
The street closures
The Town of Bridgeville has posted its festival traffic plan, and this year it includes more street closures. The parts most likely to matter to visitors:
- Market Street is closed to all traffic except buses from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 10.
- Delaware Avenue, the 300 and 400 blocks, is closed to all traffic from 6 a.m. to midnight on Saturday.
- No parking is permitted in front of residences on Delaware Avenue, Walnut Street, South Cannon Street (Market to Cedar), Laws Street (Market to Edgewood) and Williams Street from 8 a.m. Friday, Oct. 9, until 8 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 11. Mill, John, Mechanic and Cedar streets and Cherry Lane are also on the closure list.
Residents have to have vehicles off the street by 6 a.m. Saturday or they will be towed at the owner's expense. Visitor parking arrangements are not part of the town's notice, so plan your arrival with the festival's directions page rather than expecting to park on the closed streets.
